Student Council 2011-2012

Kylie        Danny        Gabby        Jackie

Our student council officers went to The College of New Jersey today for the NJASC Fall Business Conference. We gathered together with nearly 1500 student leaders and their advisors to provide an opportunity for our OCS student council officers to network with other leaders throughout the state.

Our keynote speaker was Karen Dawson, an inspirational teacher and Student Council advisor lovingly known as "The Queen of Glitter". Karen was named to the 2003 "All Star Teachers Team" by USA Today, co-hosted the NASC National Conference in 2005, and was named the winner of the Earl Reum Award in 2008 for excellence in working with advisors and other adults interested in student leadership.

Mrs. Dawson discussed the importance of being a friend to others and standing up to bullies. She told us how simple gestures can change a life.

Care in a Can

The Oxford Student Council is assisting the Oxford Emergency Squad and Fire Department in collecting cans for the needy.

The holidays are a particularly stressful time of year for many people in need.

We would like to come together as a community and help our needy with donations of non-perishable food items.

All donations are due in homerooms by December 10, 2009.

Thank you for all your help!
